Oregon City School District is proud to recognize Cody Hole of Holcomb Elementary School as this year’s recipient of the district’s Spark Award, part of OCSD’s Strategic Plan Staff Awards.

The Spark Award recognizes staff members whose energy, creativity and commitment help ignite meaningful learning experiences for students. Hole’s recognition celebrates the positive impact he makes at Holcomb Elementary by helping create an environment where students feel engaged, supported and inspired to learn.

Every student benefits from learning spaces that are welcoming, safe and filled with opportunities to explore, participate and grow. Through his work, Hole helps foster the kind of school environment where students can build confidence, develop positive relationships and actively engage in their learning.

The Spark Award aligns with Oregon City School District’s Strategic Plan priority of Safe & Engaging Learning Environments. This area of the plan is focused on ensuring students learn in settings that are physically and emotionally safe, inclusive and designed to support meaningful participation in learning. OCSD’s safe-school efforts also emphasize providing students with supportive conditions for learning and well-being.

The purpose of this work is to create the conditions students need to thrive. When students feel safe, connected and engaged, they are more able to take academic risks, contribute their ideas, build relationships and pursue their goals.

Hole was among 10 Oregon City School District staff members recognized at Welcome Back Day for bringing the district’s Strategic Plan to life through their everyday work.
